Pensworth

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

Pensworth welcomes submissions of original fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, hybrid/experimental writing, photography, and artwork from currently enrolled University of the Cumberlands students and alumni. Submit* one piece of prose (fiction, nonfiction, or hybrid/experimental writing up to 20 pages or up to three short-shorts, each piece 1,000 words or less but in one file), 3-5 poems, or 3-5 images. Pages may be single (poetry) or double spaced (prose); 10-12 point font preferred. Please include your name, contact info (an email address and phone number you frequently check), and word count (prose only) on your document’s first page.

*If submitting writing:  upload a .docx, .doc, .pdf, or .rtf file only. Exception: hybrid/experimental work should upload a .pdf.  Use a common font (such as Times or Arial) and check your file to see that your formatting (italics, tabs, columns, etc.) displays as you wish. Uploaded manuscripts with other file extensions will NOT be read. If submitting photography or artwork: upload a .jpg or .tiff file only.  Images must be at least 300 dpi.  Images that do not meet these guidelines will NOT be accepted.  Editors prefer submitters to name their files by last name and genre.  For example, Smith_fiction.doc for a short story.

The deadline is April 12.
